Close Up & ASP

Close Up is the official education partner of A Starting Point!

Bring elected officials into your school through ASP Homeroom.

Co-founded by actor and director Chris Evans, Golden Globe- and Emmy-nominated filmmaker and actor Mark Kassen, and media and technology entrepreneur Joe Kiani, A Starting Point (ASP) is a website, app, and media distribution platform that seeks to be a truly unbiased resource for information and civic engagement. By having lawmakers on both sides of the aisle directly answer questions about the policies they create, ASP seeks to demystify politics and create a more informed, empathetic citizenry.

Together, Close Up and A Starting Point have created ASP Homeroom, a nationwide civic engagement initiative to enhance the resources available to schools, educate students on the most pressing issues of our time, bring lawmakers inside the classroom, and create interactive learning opportunities between different schools and communities.

Join us for ASP Chats!

Close Up is thrilled to partner with ASP for ASP Chats, a video series of conversations with U.S. lawmakers featuring questions posed by Close Up students. ASP Chats cover the most important, most contested issues in our national conversation and can be streamed on A Starting Point’s website.
